Well, it’s been 5 months since my last post and I have to apologize for that. I lost my password and couldn’t retrieve it for a bit of that time, then just never got around to writing up a post. Anyways, I’ll update you on a little bit of personal life then end with a business update.

Personal Update

I’ve been getting more involved at my local church, Creekside Chapel. If you live around here I highly recommend you give one of Pastor Ken’s messages a try. He is one of the best pastor’s I have heard.

Like probably everyone else living in the Northeast, I’m pumped for the nice weather. We are finally seeing weather in the 50’s and 60’s with sun. It just gives me a better feeling throughout the day to see the sun shining.

In regards to my diet…lets just say I haven’t stuck with it. I have lost some weight, but still have about 30-40 pounds to shed (and I hope to do this in the next few months). For some reason I have the hardest time getting myself to the local YMCA on a regular basis. Fortunately, winter looks to be over and I can get back into biking, which I enjoy a 100 times more than running on an elliptical indoors. If anyone would like to do some biking let me know.

For all of you that know me well, you know that I’ve never been into Facebook very much. I have been using it a more these past few days and am going to start using it regularly.

Business Update

Some of my newer projects are taking shape and I’m currently feeling more motivated to work. The summer is coming up and this is when the distractions really start to roll in. I’m going to make sure to work first, then play this summer (most of the time)…and now that I know I have no chance at winning The Masters LOL, I think I’m going to ease up on the golfing this year.

I’ve purchased a new domain that I can’t wait to develop. I’m not going to post it here until I get it up, but feel free to ask if you’d like to know.

Nothing very new or exciting to update you on. Just a lot of the same stuff going on…developing current sites, launching new sites, etc…

London Trip From January

I usually like to write a brief trip update when I get back, but never got around to it.

I wasn’t haggled as customs this time, which was nice. Last time I went they gave me a hard time because I couldn’t give them the exact details on where I was staying (without pulling everything out).

After arriving I jumped into a cab and headed to the hotel. I had no clue I was in for a 45-60 minute taxi ride (and we weren’t stuck in traffic).

I’m really into cars and couldn’t help but to notice all the nice cars there. The Mercedes S-Class (starting at 88k in the USA) is a very common occurrence there and I saw my share of exotics such as Bentley’s and Aston Martin’s as well.

In terms of business accomplished on the trip, it was pretty much all networking. I spent maybe 2 hours at the convention between the two days it was running.

Thanks for reading and I’ll try to post at least once a month from now on.

Clay Target Shooting

About three to four months ago my brother got me into trap shooting. In case you aren’t familiar, it’s where you shoot clay targets, known as birds, out of the air. Let me note that I had never shot a shotgun in my life prior to this. After going to the local gun club for the first time, I was hooked.

I have since gotten into two additional forms of target shooting, skeet and sporting clays. If I ever get around to getting a video clip of myself I’ll make sure to post it so you will have some idea of what I’m talking about.

I’m actually surprised I got so interested in this sport. I have never hunted and probably never will. It’s probably a combination of wanting to get better and the feeling of getting a perfect round that really keeps me hooked. Of course having the club filled with friendly people, all willing to help out and provide tips, is another bonus…even if they are all 30+ years older than myself, lol.

Biking

Another hobby I’ve been getting back into is biking. I’m basically just trying to get some more exercise and lose weight with this hobby. It certainly beats using the elliptical indoors.

Golf

I haven’t been golfing in over a month (due to a back injury), which is quite a drought given the fact that I was golfing almost every day at one point this summer. The time off from golf has actually been a good thing, as I am spending a lot more time in the office. I’m sure I’ll be back out there before long and I imagine it’ll be more of a weekly activity than a daily activity.

I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a while now and today is the day. I’ve made numerous attempts at it before and failed, but this time it’s for real. Between all the heart conditions I hear about, The Biggest Loser television show, and my dad have really been motivating me to change my lifestyle.

I plan to cut out a lot of the junk I eat, even eliminating most of the steak. I recently bought an elliptical and will be working out on that every morning to go along with a smaller, healthier diet. And once it warms up (if that ever happens!), I’ll get back to regular biking which is something I started last summer.

I weighed in at 200 pounds this morning and plan to reach 150 – 160, although I don’t remember what I look like at that weight. I’m pretty sure I won’t be too thin at 150, but I’ll know once I’m a bit closer and will change my goal accordingly.

I am really determinded this time around and am ready to get the weight off once and for all. I will be keeping a sheet to help me track my progress and how often I work out. I’ll keep you updated on the progress a few weeks at a time. This time around I don’t want to set a date that I plan to have the weight off simply because it hasen’t worked for me in the past. I’d have to worry about losing weight at a certain pace, which would be VERY discouraging if I was got slightly behind schedule. I simply plan to cut down the calories and increase my exercise, which has proven to work for me.
